Professor Frank Fisher

Frank is an electrical (power) engineer turned environmental scientist. He is the Associate Professor and Director, Graduate School of Environmental Sciences at Monash University. His interests are to help people recognise that everything they do has social and environmental contexts of endless complexity. Secondly, everything we think and do is based on interpretations of the world around us and that these interpretations are outcomes of the particular culture we live in and so are changeable as our insight changes.

He has two sons, a journalist and a musician/fashion designer. His partner is a wool, wheat, wind and wildlife farmer.

Frank participates on some 20 national and local committees assisting the health system to deal with the chronically ill. What keeps him relatively fit, makes most of his life possible and enables him to juggle all these priorities is the bicycle he uses to travel between trains.
