HELEN MCDONALD
Helen McDonald is a science educator. Her focus in the field of education is on conceptual understanding of ideas. Her approach in the classroom is to engage the interest of students and then to allow their ideas to be challenged.
She loves to watch and share the development of her two boys who are four and two. She loves the balance that teaching, writing and raising her sons provides in her life.
She is currently juggling several jobs which all involve teaching or writing in the area of physics. She teaches physics at Toorak College and lectures and writes notes for students in a lecture program that revises year 12 physics.
She enjoys spontaneity in her classes and likes to organise activities for students in order to draw out their enthusiasm for physics.
She is a VCAA assessor and the VCAA representative to write physics-related articles for the Herald Sun. She also writes trial exam papers for VCE unit 3 and 4 physics.
